British Institutes è costituito come Associazione di diritto privato riconosciuto come ente di promozione sociale – Decreto 17.622/01, legge 28/96.
E’ costituito secondo le norme dell’ordinamento giuridico italiano.
Come ente di certificazione è autorizzato dal Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione con DM 20/03/1987 e rilascia specifica certificazione. Rilascia certificazioni secondo i livelli del Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) ed è utilizzabile su tutto il territorio comunitario.E’ membro permanente di EALTA e la certificazione British Institutes è inserita nella lista UCAS delle certificazioni accolte nelle Università del Regno Unito.
I crediti rilasciati sono utilizzabili per:
- accesso nelle Università (Artt. 5, 6, 10 DM 509/99);
- credito formativo scolastico (Legge 425/97 Scuola primaria e secondaria).
I certificati British Institutes sono validi su tutto il territorio UE con riferimento alla Direttiva n. 92/51/CEE del 18/02/92 e alla Direttiva n. 98/48/CEE del 21/12/98.
